The power of conscious breathing: escape and breathe
Find natural spaces—a sunrise in the mountains, a sunset by the sea. These moments are a sanctuary for the soul, an invitation to reconnect with yourself. Pausing to breathe becomes an essential act: a moment of calm to listen to yourself and take the time to feel everything happening within you.

Nature has so much to teach us. From the constant changes of the sea to the cycles of the sun and the weather, everything reflects the cyclical awareness that also occurs within our own bodies.
In these small acts of connection, we find a balance that transforms how we live.
The connection between conscious breathing and emotions
Breathing is the most important exchange we make with the outside world. With every inhale, we take in oxygen that fills our body with vital energy, and with every exhale, we release carbon dioxide, letting go of what we no longer need.
Did you know that how you breathe is directly connected to your emotions and health? During moments of stress, anxiety, or worry, your body reacts: muscle fibers tighten and shorten, causing rigidity in the fascia and muscles, and even leading to chronic pain. But by practicing conscious breathing, we can break this cycle, release tension, and bring balance to our body and mind.

Types of breathing: connect with your body
Thoracic breathing
- Place your open hands just below your chest, holding your ribcage.
- As you inhale, focus your attention on the movement of your chest. Notice how your diaphragm expands your ribs, creating an opening in your chest cavity. Hold the breath for a few seconds.
- As you exhale, observe how your ribs contract and your chest lowers, moving closer to your heart. Hold the breath out for a few seconds.
This technique allows your lungs to fully expand and activates your diaphragm, promoting better oxygenation.
Abdominal breathing
- Place your hands on your abdomen.
- As you inhale, breathe slowly and deeply, directing the air towards your navel. Imagine your abdomen filling up like a balloon. Hold the breath for a few seconds.
- As you exhale, visualize that imaginary balloon deflating as you draw your abdomen inward. Hold the breath out for a few seconds.
This type of breathing calms the nervous system and helps you connect with your center, encouraging deep relaxation.
Benefits of conscious and guided breathing
Dedicating just a few minutes a day to conscious breathing exercises can have a profound impact on your life. Some of the benefits include:
- Emotional Balance: Reduces anxiety, calms the mind, and improves focus.
- Physical Well-Being: Relieves muscle tension and improves tissue oxygenation.
- Inner Connection: Helps you become more aware of your emotions and live in the present moment.
Make breathing part of your daily routine
Spend just 5 to 10 minutes each day practicing conscious breathing. Find a quiet space, connect with yourself, and let each inhale and exhale bring you closer to inner balance.
